This paper takes the teaching practice research as the orientation to solve the low motivation of students in the freshman Chinese course of the college of science and technology. This action research of teaching design change is carried out. The purpose is to enhance students’ learning motivation and effectiveness by combining Chinese teaching with students’ majors. This paper takes the teaching activity of “science and technology storyteller” in a Chinese course of a science and technology college of Chi Nan university as an example to explore how science and technology can be integrated into the Chinese course. This paper takes the approach of action research, and conducts a qualitative and quantitative analysis based on the reflections of students’ experiences, interviews with relevant personnel, reflections of teacher, and surveys of teaching opinions. The results of the study found that the integration of science and technology majors into the Chinese course can effectively improve learning motivation. It helped students in their own fields, and improve learning outcomes. This article has an in-depth description and discussion of the teaching design and implementation process, results and benefits of this teaching activity. This case study contributed to improving the learning motivation and course effectiveness of freshman Chinese students in science and technology college. |
