This study illustrates how an AI expert and a Japanese language instructor collaboratively conduct a Business Japanese course to develop various human skills required in the AI society. Specifically, based on the theme of 'AI and our life,' the students carried out a group project to plan a new product employing AI speech recognition technology. During the course, the AI expert was in charge of the lectures of AI knowledge and business planning as well as group conference for improvement of each plan. The Japanese instructor guided how to write a business plan and make an oral presentation. Each group's final product plan demonstrates that the students cultivated their planning ability and creativity. The comparison of the results of the pre- and the post-course questionnaires also shows that this course helped the students not only understand what AI is, but also grow expectation for the future with AI as well as lessen their fear to AI. We hope this research will contribute to promote the AI course that integrates content learning and language learning in the Japanese language education in Taiwan. |
