The multiple teacher cultivation policy and low Fertility Rate influences the job opportunities of new graduates especially, the Department of Education, traditionally responsible for the cultivation of elementary teachers, and these departments try to enhance students’ employability in education industry outside of the schools through the innovation of curriculum. According to the analysis of the courses of teacher education program, there are three kinds of transformation approaches: first, keeping the aims of teacher education, and enhancing the courses of education industry; second, enhancing the courses of digital technology; third, adjusting a new department on education industry and digital design. Department of Education Industry and Digital Media (EIDM) in the Teachers’ college of Taitung University is a new and interdisciplinary program, developed by the faculties originally in Department of Education (EDU). Both two disciplines belong to Teachers’ college, and the aim of EIDM is to develop the digital products of educational and cultural content applying the digital skills, and EDU continues to focus on developing the high quality teachers. Through the innovation, Teachers’ college expands the education field to cultural and education industry and enrich the traditional education discipline. |
