1960世代的詩人中，早逝的羅葉（1965-2010）無疑是特立獨行且才華洋溢的一人。1994年起，他先後有四部詩集出版，在創作上呈現對生命意義的追尋，對藝術創造課題的闡述，對政治、社會議題的揭破，以及情愛、疾病等的書寫趨向。羅葉的詩創作從年少對生命、藝術與社會課題的熱切投入，繼之透過媒體工作的鍛鍊，發而為冷靜深入的社會與政治觀察，在情愛的書寫上則不免遊走於悲傷。他既專注於內在精神的探索，也悉心於生活現場觀察剖析。真摯的情感、婉轉的抒情與說故事的能力，是羅葉詩創作的重要特色，而對所生所長土地的熱愛，乃是其創作上最重要的原動力。儘管詩人已然遠去，但其孤絕、熱切的蟬的身影，以及書寫島嶼的志業，也將繼續響亮與傳承下去。

"Among the poets from the 1960s, Lo Yeh who passed away young （1965-2010） was no doubt a uniquely independent individual filled with talents. As of 1994, he had successively published four anthologies. In the works, he demonstrated the pursuit of the meaning of life, the elaboration towards art creation topics, the exposure of political and social issues, as well as the writing tendency towards affection and sickness. Lo Yeh's poetic creations started with the enthusiastic devotion in life, art and social issues when he was at a young age. They then turned out to be calm and in-depth social as well as political observations after going through training in the media field. His writings regarding love affection have rather been unavoidably melancholy.
