"Under the Technical and Vocational Education Act, which stipulates“pre-service teacher education programs to qualify people to teach in elementary, junior high, and senior secondary schools shall include subjects related to vocational education and training and to career planning as compulsory credit courses,”it has become one of the pivotal missions for teacher educators to not only design and develop a well-fitting curriculum relating to the vocational education and training, but adopt effective and fun teaching approaches to further engage pre-service teachers and to enhance their learning performances. Action research was commissioned in this study through design and analysis of teaching content, multidimensional teaching methods and assessment methods planning, reflection and adjustment of teaching processes, as well as collection and analysis of literature and data. The result showed that the developed curriculum could meet the curriculum objectives, while pre-service teachers had a better understanding of vocational education upon completion of the training. A majority of the participants agreed that the multidimensional teaching methods could improve their learning interests and meet the teaching objective effectively. They were also satisfied with their learning outcome. On the other hand, a number of them had different perspectives on vocational education after the training. Their feedback on the curriculum which adapted multidimensional teaching methods were analyzed and summarized. Suggestions and reflection were provided for any educators with an intention to apply multidimensional teaching methods in the future." |
