"Purpose: This study explored the relationship among network utilization, self-efficacy and subjective well-being. Target subjects were Internet users in Taiwan. Methodology: A questionnaire survey method was adopted, with a total of 242 valid questionnaires being retrieved. Independent sample t-test, ANOVA and structural equation modeling (SEM) were used for data analysis. Result: Major findings were shown as follows: (1) Network utilization had no significant effect on subjective well-being; (2) Network utilization had a positive significant effect on self-efficacy; (3) self-efficacy had a positive significant effect on subjective well-being. Conclusion: Nowadays, with the introduction of the Internet, human society has been evolving drastically. Besides, instant interaction on virtual platform via computer terminals, a new type of interpersonal relationship, has also emerged. Major findings suggested that with the Internet's constant development, it not only gradually changed communication methods, lifestyles and consumption channels, but also made various applications and Internet services available to people. As such, the Internet was helpful in saving time as well as enhancing life quality and work productivity. The findings further demonstrated that individuals who obtained social support from network utilization built their self-efficacy, which made them competent to cope with varied challenges. Moreover, support from the Internet community helped individuals become more optimistic and positively affects subjective well-being. These findings served as reference for future researchers and authorities concerned." |
