"The purpose of this research is to explore the influence of the 'cooperative learning' teaching method applied to the interest of learning in English teaching courses. It also summarizes students' opinions on the use of cooperative learning in English teaching, as well as the teacher's implementation of cooperative learning teaching process and solutions to difficulties. This research adopts a quasi-experimental method.The experimental group adopts cooperative learning in English teaching, while the control group adopts general English teaching methods. The two groups are pre-tested with the 'English Learning Interest Scale', followed by eighteen lessons in six weeks. After the experimental teaching course is completed, the 'English Learning Interest Scale' will be tested afterwards. The study found:
Ⅰ、The cooperative learning applied in English teaching to the fourth grade students can significantly enhance the students' learning interest. It was also highly obtained positive attitude and approved by the students.
Ⅱ、Comparing with the control group accepting general English teaching
method, the learning interest in English course for the students in the
experimental group was obviously higher than that in the control group
after the experimental group receiving the cooperative learning in English teaching.
Ⅲ、 Comparing with the control group accepting general English teaching
method, there were no obvious differences in the learning achievement after the experimental group receiving the cooperative learning in English teaching.
Finally, based on the results of the study, some recommendations were provided for the primary school English teachers and school." |
