"Generally speaking, technological and vocational education （TVE） and academic education were considered to be two distinct concepts. TVE academicalization is regarded as a negative term that should be reversed. Is TVE academicalization a wrong direction? It is necessary to re-define and re-recognize the meaning of TVE academicalization. This study aimed to explore what is TVE academicalization? Can TVE be academicalized? And how to academicalize TVE? We adopted literature analysis to investigate the nature and fundamental basis of TVE. We also developed a curricula framework of history and philosophy of TVE and reflected continually through class discussion, facebook feedback, focus group and questionnaire. Preliminary research results have been achieved. The main findings of this study suggested that adding the topics of the evolution of ancient craftsmanship, investigating the TVE issues from the perspectives of general education and ethic of technology, and further applying e-learning platforms to contribute the online argumentation among experts of history, philosophy and engineering are all available strategies. Besides, we also look forward to accumulating more literature of TVE and provoking more productive discussion on this issue by SoTL approach."
