珍．奧斯汀常被疵議書寫內容不出日常生活點滴，不過，縱使她的作品誠然看不到國家、民族的情懷，然而其社會關懷卻是大有可觀。本文正是探討珍．奧斯汀小說中所反映的社會關懷。分兩段論述：「婚姻、愛情與財富的三角習題」、「資源分配與人際關係」。前者又分三小節：「真愛與負心」、「婚姻的條件」與「美滿婚姻的藍圖」，後者則分「財產繼承制度」、「人情冷暖」與「階級歧視」三部分。最後的結論，主要談談奧斯汀關注的幾個大課題的核心意義，再把奧斯汀小說中一些零星片斷的理念略作陳述，如社會救濟、飲食與健康以及淡泊樸實的生活態度等，以見珍．奧斯汀社會關懷的多元性。

The latter is divided into three parts:“property succession system”,“human well-being”and“class discrimination”. The final conclusion, mainly about Austin's attention to the core issues of several major issues, and then some of the Austrian novels in some of the idea of a fragmentary fragment, such as social relief, diet and health and indifferent simple attitude to see Jane.
