This research conducted various tests on ceramic microspheres and glass microspheres, and made a comprehensive analysis of the test results to understand their applicability as fillers for the restoration of cultural heritage polychrome wood. In order to understand the use of micron-level synthetic fillers as fillers for restoration of painted wood, this study selected glass microballons, glass microballs and ceramic microballs with different specific gravities and particle sizes, mixed with binders in different proportions (10%, 20%, 30%). The appropriate binders, acrylic emulsions with stable aging properties, Plextol® D 498, and Lascaux® 498 were selected after literature review and analysis. Finally, this research discusses the test and observation results of various glass microspheres and ceramic microspheres, comparing the physical properties of each as restoration fillers. |
