The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of overcorrection strategies on disorderly spitting behavior in autistic children.The single-subject a-b-a withdrawal design was used to intervene for 40 days in an 11-year-old autistic boy in fourth grade at A special school for his disorderly spitting behavior.The independent variable of this study is the overcorrection strategy, while the dependent variable is the frequency of the random spitting behavior of the individual. The researcher intervened the random spitting behavior of the individual in the natural situation of the classroom to promote the individual to develop good hygiene habits.The research data were analyzed by visual analysis,supplemented by other observational data and social validity analysis,to understand the influence of overcorrection on the random spitting behavior of the case.The study found that overcorrection intervention can reduce the disorderly spitting behavior of autistic children,with good social validity. |
