Typically developing children from birth to grow up almost experience the similar processes ofcommunication behavior development, such as unable to communicate specific intention, appeargestures, movements or other communication intended behavior, and further develop the firstmeaningful word. The developmental periods of the communication behavior can be categorized thepre-linguistic phase and the linguistic one. In order to establish the children's listening and speakingabilities, the paper sorted out the critical items for assessing the hearing impaired children'scommunication abilities through literature review and content validity assessment by 10 experts andscholars in the relative fields. |
