Every rural district in Taiwan has one farmers' association. All of farmers' associations are responsible for varying activities which are tightly connecting to the daily life of farmers, including enforcing government policy, marketing products, providing finance and promoting education, home economics, and 4-H activities. It is urgent to preserve and study the archive and artifact of these farmers' associations in order to understand 100-year history of their tasks of era and impacts on Taiwan's agricultural development. After a few rounds of negotiation and communication, several farmers' associations have agreed to donate parts of their archive and artifact to National Training Institute for Farmers' Associations (NTIFO) and National Archives Administration, National Development Council for preservation and exhibition. This article introduces these historical relics and explored the glory of their times. |
