Through various media and information technologies, past activities of government are preserved as critical memory in agencies after filing. Tremendous amount of electronic records in government agencies are created under the emergence of information technologies. Since 2001, international standards for records management have are promulgated by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to meet the needs of media and operations management named as ISO 15489. It leads electronic records management practices towards the purposes of authenticity, reliability, integrity and usability. Additionally, principles and functional requirements for records in electronic office environments are raised in ISO 16175 as well. To meet the requirement of regulations, government agencies formulate their strategies and rules, integrate resources, improve their ability and avoid risks to attain the goal of electronic records management. |
