Oral histories can give voice to those who have been silenced or ignored. Oral histories also can interpret the fragments of historical documents and archives in a lively way to record public memory. Respecting the value of oral histories to archives, this paper summarizes the principles and best practices for pre-interview preparation, the conduct of the interview, and the management and use of oral histories. The Oral historical programs in abroad are also explained. Finally, the conclusions and suggestions are proposed for archival institution to reference. |
