President Chiang Ching-kuo was one of the most important politicians in Taiwan's Modern history. His achievement on the development of economics and politic of Taiwan was enormous and familiar to Taiwan people, however, little was known about his studying and living in the Soviet Union. The Academia Historica organized an exhibition for celebrating Chiang's centenary in 2009, and collected copies of Chiang's archives from Russian Federation. Mapping all materials about Chiang's life and experience in the Soviet Union, it was found that some facts about revealed in the archives were different from that on Chiang's memoirs, including his study record. The author analyzes all these materials, and suggests that there may be more first-hand material about Chiang Ching-kuo to be discovered in the Soviet Union. |
