While the National Parks of Taiwan have been officially established for only 30 years, the development history of them could be dated back to one hundred years ago. In addition, they made great impacts on development of humanities and historical culture of Taiwan. Unfortunately, due to lack of comprehensive management system, many momentous cultural relics have not been preserved by the national parks and even disappeared. Through the case of“The Pilot Plan of Digital Archives for Taiwan's National Parks''project, the authors introduce the processes of relics recruitment and assessment for Taiwan's six national parks. After collecting period pieces of the National Parks, the research team constructed a list of publications about the National Parks and established the cultural relics evaluation system. Moreover, the team suggested the priority of the period pieces for digital archiving, wherever they are preserved by the National Parks or private-owned. Through the construction of Digital Archives, the authors expect that the period pieces of National Parks could be collected and preserved well, and the value-added digital content of them could be a great tool for future promotion and education. |
