This study is a case study that the researcher visited the Thekchog Namdrol Shedrub Dargeyling Temple in South India. This study adopts a method of self narrative and deep interview to explore the pilgrim mind in the religious tourism. The results reveal that the religious tourism includes the functions of religious believe, tourism leisure, spiritual commitment and aesthetical culture. However, deep religious tourism, which visits a sacred place of pilgrimage, not only is limited to general religious belief but also involves the spiritual levels and the pursuit of self-accomplishment values. Therefore, for an example of the pilgrimage travel of the Tibetan Buddhism in South India, although each pilgrim has different environmental backgrounds, educational degrees and economical incomes, pilgrims have religious belief in common. In the religious tourism experiences, pilgrims have attachment, enlightenment and remedy. Religious Tibetan Buddhism pilgrims, who go on a pilgrimage, have specified attachment and considerably respect for religious masters. Because of respects, the pilgrims accept hard religious processes. The pilgrims, who read scriptures and accept rules from religious masters, integrate them in their life. The religious enlightenment is started from pilgrims themselves and spread others. For the spiritual remedy for pilgrims, rendering and accepting people with aforementioned touching experiences let themselves understand giving up attachment, doing themselves, and getting rid of outside constraints and inspire a positive outlook on life. |
