This article is to inquire the daily routines of indigenous educational institution during the Japanese colonial period. Indigenous educational institution was similar to school organization, and daily routines of indigenous educational institution were also school routines. An inguiring into daily routines of indigenous educational institution is to understand the transition and transformation of indigenous time concept, and how the Japanese colonialists' time concept affects indigenous peoples and tribes. Why does this article choose indigenous educational institution as the object of discussion? The reason is that indigenous peoples were more ''closed'' and ''isolated'' in the eyes of Japanese rulers. Therefore, between the traditional time concept and colonialists' ones, the dynamic process from conflict to acceptance could be observed. |
