This article used method of educational hermeneutics to investigate Gamm's general pedagogy. First, to discuss the origins of Gamm's general pedagogy; second, to explain the main contents of Gamm's general pedagogy; third, to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of Gamm's general pedagogy; fourth, to explain the important implications of Gamm's general pedagogy. This article provides our country as a reference to establish theories and to solve problems of education. Gamm's general pedagogy was affected by Comenius's educational theory, Humboldt's cultivation theory, Marx's historical materialism, Adorno's critical theory and Heydorn's educational theory. The contents of his pedagogy include the functions and missions of general pedagogy, the concepts and meanings of education and cultivation, the functions and problems of school, the relation between educational theory and practice, the nature and tasks of general pedagogy. There are some advantages and problems regarding Gamm's general pedagogy. Even though, Gamm's general pedagogy is very important. It could be a reference for us to establish theories and to solve problems of general pedagogy. Therefore, it deserves us to pay attention to Gamm's general pedagogy. |
