Tetsugaku jii (哲學字彙) is a philosophical glossary that was first pubilished in japan in the Meiji era. This book have influence on the formation of philosophical terminology, therefore, Prior studies have been made on the influence of this book. In the Meiji era, Tetsugaku jii is very influential, and many scholars used terminology from this book. Thus, to study the influence , we must draw attention to research the academic work of the Meiji era. However, little attention has been given to this point. The purpose of this paper is to consider the influence of Tetsugaku jii 1st edition on contemporary important scholars, especially on their one and two character terminology of traditional logic. In this paper, the author found that important fact is terminology translated by Nishi Amane (西周). Nishi is a famous philosopher in the Meiji era. Prior studies already reported that Tetsugaku jii adapted a lot of terminology tranlated by Nishi. the author demonstrate that this book's terminology from Nishi tend be adapted by many important logicians in the Meiji era, and be established as basic terms of logic. |
