Among the Song officials who engaged in Song-Liao diplomatic affairs, Su Song was a more acquainted one. He compiled a volume of Song-Liao diplomatic documents, Hua Rong Lu Wei Xin Lu. He had served as escorts for Liao ambassadors, and had twice been sent to the Liao as a birthday-ambassador. He had also written documents regarding Song-Liao diplomacy. It is thus worthwhile to further examine Su Song's engagement in Song-Liao diplomatic affairs. |
