From December 1996 to March 1997, a total of 50 samples of hand-washed liquid detergents for food utensils were examined for their sanitation and safety status. These samples consisted of nine imported samples and forty-one domestic samples. All tests were performed following the Hygienic Standards of hand-washed liquid detergents for food utensils. The results concluded that the contents of arsenic and heavy metal in all samples were below the hygienic limit. The pH values of nine domestic samples were found to contain methanol, above the hygienic limit 0.1%. Among the fifty samples tested, eleven samples did not correspond to the regulation set by the Department of Health. |
