1386 samples of vegetables and fruits were collected from traditional markets and supermarkets, in Taiwan which were analyzed with a multiresidues method including 31 items of pesticides from July 1996 to June 1997. The results showed that 275 of 1386 samples (19.8%) contained pesticide residues but only 34 samples (2.5%) violated the tolerance level set by Department of Health. The highest detection ratio (33.3%) was found in berry fruits. Two kinds of pesticides in 54 samples, three kinds of pesticides in 5 samples and four kinds of pesticides in 2 samples were detected simultaneously. |
