Taiwan will begin implementing a 12-year compulsory education policy in August, 2014. It would be aroused the discussing about the characteristics of behaviors of Japanese language teachers in the secondary education institutions. The purpose of this study is to examine the image of outstanding Japanese language teachers from the students' point of view by using the questionnaire. The results obtained herein can suggest a good reference for the teachers' education and self-improvement. This study surveyed the comments by 562 Japanese and non-Japanese Department students from a girls vocational high school in Taiwan. Analysis is based 505(89%) valid samples. As a result, most students care about the concern for interaction rather than the teaching certification or M.A. degree aspect of Japanese teachers. That means that most students wish Japanese teachers could give a hand to them in difficulty, rather than a great capacity for teaching Japanese language. The results showed not only undergraduates but also vocational high school students look after interacting with Japanese teachers. The results presented herein are useful reference to those teachers who teach Japanese as the second foreign language in vocational high school. |
