In this research, nano-SiO2 materials are added to water works sludge ash to create mixtures, which then form a portion of concrete. The influences of nano-SiO2 materials and water works sludge ash on cement paste fresh behaviors are evaluated. Results show that with the high surface effect of nano-SiO2 materials and water works sludge ash, the flowability and setting time reduce with increasing amount of cement replaced and of nano-SiO2 materials added. The effect of nano-SiO2 materials on cement paste water demand is obvious. Cement paste water demand doubles when nano-SiO2 materials replace 8 % of cement, but the water demand remained the same as control cement paste when mixed with 10 % water works sludge ash. The mathematics model of the relationship between the amount of nano-SiO2 materials, water works sludge ash and cement paste water demand of standard consistency was produced by statistics analysis. |
