In recent years, rural landscape had encountered the threats of decay, dirty and disordered spaces. For improving the rural environment prettification and reproducing the local landscape features, the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau of Taiwan promoted the project of landscape aesthetics improvement and dilapidated space prettification based on the rural regeneration regulations. However, many communities were eager to gain the resource without proper planning and design. This study first applied the concepts of “Landscape forming factors” from the review and interviews with experts, followed by using the Analytical Hierarchy Process to develop the weighting of the “Evaluative System of Dilapidated Space in Rural Villages (ESDSRV)”. The results showed that the ESDSRV can assist the evaluators in understanding the spatial features of rural improved space. By comparing these criteria, the system could also be the important references for central and local governments to enhance rural space landscape management tasks in the future. |
