The study forges a theoretical model and framework based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). It investigates 422 people with caregiving experience, and verifies the relations among the variables from the structural equation modeling. The results indicate that the behavioral intention has a positive and significant effect on the caregivers with the smart wearable device, in terms of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence. However, the two constructs such as facilitating conditions and users' intention do not have a significant effect on users' behavior. The results as such explain that the designer is able to design from the three constructs mentioned above, and ponders over how to enhance the design quality of the information system in order to develop users' convenience, interactivity, communication, safety, and affective relations. In addition, the study proposes some management implications for gerontechnology design's future references. |
