How to Measure the Depth of Eroticism: Lee Chiao’s Erotic Dialogue with Chung Chao-Cheng and Yeh Shih-Tao

李喬在2015年以八十高齡寫下探索情慾的長篇小說《情世界―回到未來》，歸納其動機有三：其一、因多年前曾誤讀而批評鍾肇政《歌德激情書》、葉石濤《蝴蝶巷春夢》這兩部情色文學，遂決定以實際創作向兩人致歉；其二、此作為李喬在腦海中醞釀許久的主題，希冀透過創作以表述對違反自然律演化論的反抗；其三、作為一名資深小說家對創作手法及多元文字的嘗試與實驗。本文首先將李喬與鍾肇政、葉石濤的情色文學並置對話，探析在情慾書寫的表象下如何傳達作者深層的信念與意旨；其次專論李喬在《情世界―回到未來》的書寫策略，由此觀察寫作手法與小說創作目的間具有何種關聯性。簡言之，藉由這些情色文學的表象與手法，探悉作品背後揭露的深度意旨以及如何建構出李喬式的情色論，是本文的目的所在。

In 2015,Lee finished the novel Love World: Back to the Future at the age of 80.There are three motives behind the work: first, years ago Lee misread and disparagedChung’s Goethe’s Passions and Yeh’s Wet Dream on Butterfly Lane. As an apology, Leeoffers his own creation; second, the novel deals with a theme that has been brewing onLee’s mind for a long time, one through which Lee hopes to express resistance againsthuman practice that runs counter to the development of natural revolution; third, as anexperienced novelist, the work is an attempt at and an experiment on new techniquesand multifaceted writing style. This paper puts Lee Chiao’s work, along with ChungChao-cheng and Yea Shih-Tao’s erotic literature into a dialogic context, to analyze howauthors express deep beliefs and meanings through erotic writing; further, it focuses onthe writing strategy of Lee Chiao’s Love World: Back to the Future, to observe the connectionbetween techniques and motives. In short, through expressions and techniquesfound in erotic literature, this article aims to reveal the profound meanings behind Lee’swork, and to construct a certain eroticism of the author.
