As an apology, Leeoffers his own creation; second, the novel deals with a theme that has been brewing onLee’s mind for a long time, one through which Lee hopes to express resistance againsthuman practice that runs counter to the development of natural revolution; third, as anexperienced novelist, the work is an attempt at and an experiment on new techniquesand multifaceted writing style.
