Public facility evaluation is one of essential tasks in urban planning and overall reviews, which will affect the living quality a lot. However, the current regulations and standards for public facility evaluation are too loose to derive sufficient information for planners to improve current plans under reviewing. This article reviews and establishes theories about spatial analysis techniques in geographical information systems. Furthermore, according to different data sets, this article proposes two evaluation methods, called the grid method and the quick method for public facility evaluation. Two cases are also presented to explain how methods work and possible improvements in the future. It is also hoped that, according to the experiences of this research, the current regulations, standards, and methods can be strengthened and improved. |
