When it comes to improving Applied Japanese Department’s curriculum, the idea of “Nihongo +α”, which stands for “Japanese Language Ability Professionalism” had emerged almost a decade ago. Implementations of the conceptual curriculum for over 10 years demand immediate attention at this point of time. This research aims to find out and suggest on educational practice problems based on the “Nihongo +α” concept.Suggestions are as followed. Nihongo courses should include the four skills, such as speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as gradually incorporate professional attempts in them. Professional courses, in the meantime, should also incorporate Nihongo in them. From the intermediate and high level Japanese language education perspective, teachers from “Nihongo” and “α” expertise can work together effectively is also the key to improve teaching quality in the department. |
