Repeated efforts to revive Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus have not led to its acceptance bythe great majority of theatergoers. Its integration into the Shakespeare repertory will notoccur until the play is seen for what it is: a juvenile work of Shakespeare, of interestbecause of the glimpse it affords us of the playwright’s apprenticeship.
