The thematic exhibition is the trend in modern museums, and it has departed from the classifying display and allowed every piece of fine arts to be displayed distinctively without connection with the concepts. Therefore, the storyline of the topic becomes the main standard of connecting the exhibition contents and confirming the designing concepts for the exhibition planner to develop the design. How can we develop a storyline in the various information? 'Human Wisdom-- Nobel Prize 100 Years' and the 'Voyage of the Past-- Living Technology in Taiwan's Early Restoration' are two different types of exhibitions. The former is based on knowledge, and the latter is based on material. Therefore, the process of the forming the concepts and the outcome would be quite different. The study figures out the differences between material and knowledge, synchronic and diachronic, presents the result as a contrast by recalling the storylines and characteristics in the two exhibitions. It is expected to provide some reference for the exhibition planners to analyze and compose the storylines while facing different topics. |
