〈《老子》文本中的「稱代」表現〉

The Usage of “Substitution” in Lao Tzu

著西方哲學界語言學的轉向，《老子》研究也開始注意言說的解析，思想領域的研究因此涉入語言學與語用學的領域。而《老子》文本，如「自然」、「抱一」、「去彼取此」等，無疑有著特殊的「稱代」表現，，本文即在王弼〈老子指略〉的啟發下，隨其對「稱」的言說解析，引入現代語言學中的「稱代」（substitution）理論，進行觀察。語用學又指出「稱代」在對話語境（context）中足以產生「指示」（indexical expressions）功能，而使話語指向言語行為者，《老子》讀者因而得以在語言的「稱代」機制中較為自由的將自己的生存體驗納入《老子》的詮釋，這樣，「稱代」其實是以其替代作用，如以「此」、以「一」及以「自然」概括萬物，將讀者拉入《老子》所建立的第一人稱論述中，脫離歷史名物所成特殊時空的侷限，而使後代讀者的視域與作者視域相融，傳遞道論。於是，《老子》文本在「稱代」的語法功能中完成了思想論述，「稱代」則在《老子》文本的發揮下展現了豐富的思想內涵及語用學中的溝通作用。

This article discusses the usage of “substitution” in Lao Tzu. It is noticed that there are special meanings in the presence of words like “here (此)”, “one (一)” and nature (自然) in Lao Tzu. Wang Bi was the first scholar who mentioned this observation. Through his argument, we further observe that the usage of“substitution” in the context of Lao Tzu has some indexical expressions. It is found that the words “here (此)”, “one (一)” and “nature(自然)” in the text may enable its readers to use their own experiences to interpret the content of Lao Tzu. Through this mechanism, the state of “the fusion of horizons” between the thoughts of Lao Tzu and the minds of the readers can be reached.
