As the world becomes more globally integrated, the need for academic exchange and information sharing has grown. This is nowhere truer than in Chinese-speaking Asia, where economies are working ever more closely together and exchanges between people are increasing. Unfortunately, the smooth flow information among Chinese-speaking areas has been hampered by political, geographical, and language factors, preventing the systematic collection of Chinese-language sources and foreign-language studies on Chinese issues.
In order to resolve this bottleneck, Feng Chia University Library and Tunghai University Library jointly held a Seminar on Cross-strait Library Cooperation and Librarian Training from November 16 to 17, 2002. |
