The arrival of the information age has brought new challenges for libraries as they try to adapt to changing internal and external conditions. In order to deal effectively with the deluge of information today, libraries need to explore ways to improve the quality and scope of their services and acquire the skills needed to turn risk into opportunity. Libraries around the world have experimented with different approaches and strategies to meet the changed operation environment they face in the knowledge economy. In order to promote positive cooperation among libraries in this regard and improve the professional skills of librarians, a series of activities for the “2002 E-library Innovation and Study Seminar” was planned. The seminar provided an opportunity for librarians to exchange views and work together to solve the problems faced by libraries today and to develop their e-library resources. |
