Library and Information Science Seminar

Librarian and information science specialists convened at the NCL on May 29 for a seminar on establishing safe and integrated e-library services. The daylong meeting was sponsored by the Automation and Network Committee of the Library Association of China and the NCL. Four industry speakers gave presentations on topics concerning the digitalization and protection of library resources. Tseng Jen-tai (曾仁泰), vice chairman of Transtech Corp. spoke on “Prospects for Integrated Library and Digital Services”; Ulead product manager Liu Shu-jung (劉淑蓉) discussed “Digital Content Processing and Technology”; Internet Security Systems’ Fan Kuo-chen (樊國楨) introduced “Safe Policies for Data Storage, Operations and Management”; and Ivor Wang (王豐昌), chairman of Cwave, spoke on the “Development of Digital Reading, Study and Copyrights.”
