LAC Annual Meeting(Vol.33 No.2)

The Library Association of China (LAC) held its 47th annual meeting at the NCL on December 8. Huang He-ming (黃河明), director of the Institute for Information Industry, delivered the keynote speech on global knowledge networks. Awards were presented in recognition of special contribution, social service and long and distinguished service. Winners in the special contribution category were Yang Ming-tsung (楊明宗), former director of National Cheng Kung University Library, Shih Mei-yu (石美玉) of the Science and Technology Information Center, and Chang Mao-hsiang (張貿翔), a professor at National Chung Cheng University. The social service awards went to Lin Su-mei (林素梅), Liu Pi-chu (蘇劉碧珠) and Huang Wei-han (黃維翰). A total of 37 scholarships in six categories were presented as well.
