Kids Hunt for Knowledge at Summer Library Program

The Preparatory Office of the Taipei County Library kicked off its 'Summer Reading Treasure Hunt' on July 24 at the Fuying Branch Library. The activities, which were held at several branch libraries through July 29, gave kids a chance to expand their knowledge and learn how to use library resources through a fun 'treasure hunt' competition. Some 50 parent-children teams and groups of friends took part in the first-day activities. The children were first introduced to basic library operations, collection resources, and use of reference material. They then drew from among 20 topics and were asked to hunt for the answer. Team partners huddled to discuss the topic and then shuttled through the library to find the solution. Winners were rewarded with bookstore gift certificates.
