Taiwan's 2000 Lifelong Education Festival came to a climax on June 18, at Taipei's National Science and Technology Museum (NSTM), with rousing science performances, displays of antique toys and daily utensils, and even a demonstration by a renowned ramen noodle chef. The event, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Education and several community education organizations, attracted more than 120,000 visitors during its 15-day run.
n order to illustrate the close relation between continuing education and daily life, sponsors planned several activities related to Fukienese, Hakka, and aboriginal culture in Taiwan. The activities, including a series of games, helped parents and children understand the significance of continuing education. |
