The Library Association of China (LAC) kicked off a series of summer school classes in July, helping librarians and information specialists brush up their skills. The five weeklong courses admitted between 60 and 70 participants each and covered the following topics:
1. Digital Libraries and Information Searching (July 10 to 14): This class, organized by the Library and Information Science Department at National Taiwan University, discussed various aspects of the establishment, management, and promotion of digital libraries.
2. Library Resource Organization and Arrangement (July 17 to 21): Hosted by the NCL, this course addressed classification standards and other issues pertaining to cataloging work and library resource management. |
