1289 samples of vegetables and fruits were collected from July 1995 to June 1996 in Taiwan from traditional markets and supermarkets, which were analyzed with a multiresidue method including 69 items of pesticides. The results indicated that 220 of 1289 samples (17.1%) contained pesticide residues but only 45 samples (3.5%) violated the tolerance set by Department of Health, The highest detection ratio was found in citrus fruits (33.3%). 30 samples contained two kinds of pesticides, 3 samples contained three kinds of pesticides and 1 sample contained four kinds of pesticides simultaneously. |
