Mr. Xiantang Wang (1897-1960) was a renowned and contemporary scholar who specialized in archeology, philology, phonology, and science of edition. To date, there have been no complete studies on bibliography of Wang's works. The author intends to collect Wang's works seen in Taiwan and Mainland China and classify them into three categories: single books, theses, and editorial works. Based on the time line of Wang's works, the author then discusses each type of works in terms of the motivation behind the works, contents of the works, and publication of the works. The author also intends to update bibliographies of Wang's works including the missing works that Wang had mentioned in his other works to reveal a more complete picture of his lifetime achievements in scholarly works. |
