This project investigates the potential user groups of National Palace Museum Antiquities Digital Archives Retrieval System to gain a better understanding for its users' needs and use applications from the users' perspective, and suggest practical guidelines for improving the system's usability. Based on the in-depth interview with diverse user groups, including scholars, researchers, students, volunteers, schools teachers, and general public, this empirical study found that different user groups would use the system in different ways and would have different expectations from the system. The findings of this empisrical investigation entail practical suggestions in five dimensions for system design to make it useful and usable to the potential user groups. Those implications and suggestions fall into the following categories: contents, information organization, functions, related resources, and user's correspondence channels. |
