Subject : Based on soft tissue mechanics, Robert, a western osteopathic physician, developed a sys t ematic treatment for spinal diseases and joint pain of the limbs. It highlighted the approach and technique on clinical evaluation and treatment. Method: The first step of palpation starts from the most painful point or the point which isn’t nimble in action. Following the myofascial mechanics, the systematic palpation is applied to find out where has been impacted the worst. The second step is step-by-step coordination from superficial structures to deep structures. Third, palpation speed is important. Slow is better than fast. Fourth, the physicians need to keep stereo images of muscle, bones and nerve in his mind. In addition, through the 4D consciousness, the physicians lead the patients to relax and release for getting better treatment effects and more trust between physicians and patients. Result: The myofascial biomechanical system treatment for spine-related diseases can effectively release the pain after acute/chronic soft tissue injury as well as resolve neurological/functional/structural disability and birth trauma, and improve structural flexibility. Conclusion: The myofascial biomechanical system treatment for spine-related diseases has obvious curative effect without adverse reaction. Therefore, it is worth popularizing. |
