Mother 's wrist' (radial styloid tenosynovitis) occurs when the tendons that move the thumb outward (away from the index finger) become painful and swollen (tenosynovitis), most commonly from the irritation caused by repetitive gripping and twisting motions. In traditional Chinese medicine, the treatment should be based on the coordination of muscle-bone system in order to get a permanent cure. It's a causal treatment to resolve the fascia tension problem (unusual tension) for making the bone back to its normal position and creating the best condition for self-repairing of soft tissue. Prevention is better than cure. It's a changeless rule. In normal times, the people with 'mother's wrist' should avoid over-use of the damaged tissue. A correct posture with braces or tape is necessary during physical activities. |
