Hemolyzed and lipemic specimens sometimes interfere with test results, especially when detecting the total IgE of a specimen. Phadia immuno CAP100, Immunlite 1000 and Beckman-Coulter ACCESS Immunoassay System were used to try and understand how hemolyzed and lipemic specimens interfered with the measurement of total IgE. The experimental results from the three different machine assays showed that hemolyzed/ lipemic specimens and normal serum specimens show a high degree of correlation with each other (interference coefficient >0.9). When the three systems were compared, the Phadia immunoCAP 100 method was the most stable and most suitable system for detecting total IgE in the two types of specimens (coefficient for the hemolyzed samples was 0.999 and for the; lipemic samples was 0.998). However, the IgE DPC immunilite 1000 method showed a greater efficiency when detecting small amount of IgE. Furthermore, in conclusion, all three systems showed good performance when detecting IgE in detecting lipemic and hemolytic specimens. |
