Under the influence of the global information society movement, the popularity of internet and computer use has made access to computers and the internet an essential tool in the lifestyle of members of the modern information society. Therefore, information literacy has become a basic skill that everyone needs to acquire today. The greatest difference between online and traditional testing lies in the fact that online testing offers simplified procedures, increased validity and a lower cost. In addition, online testing saves with the printing process and paper, which contributes to environmental protection. Through SPSS and ASP (Active Server Page) based on-line testing and the analytical system developed for this study, we investigated differences in information literacy before and after pharmacists were trained. These results were analyzed with respect to gender, age, professional level, region and the location of their practice. The goal of this study was not only to equip pharmacists with basic computer operating skills, but also to enable them to access pharmaceutical related information at anytime in order to improve their service quality. Moreover, we hope to continuously improve the planning of similar related training courses based on the ASP-based system in order to enhance pharmacists’ overall practice quality and to ensure medicine safety for the public. |
