The Japanese brought indigenous people new educational institutions and activities, in which educational excursions were one of them. For indigenous children at that time, an educational excursion was a new experience. When indigenous children were implanted visual experiences by educational excursions, their self-reflexivity was also inspired at the same time. This paper attempts to inquire how modern education brought by the Japanese influenced Taiwanese indigenous children during Japanese colonial period, with a focus on educational excursions to see how these experiences have impact on indigenous tribal societies. |
