Purpose: The purpose of this investigation was to understand the influence of self-concepts to health behaviors among students in a vocational high school in Taipei City. Method: The method of sampling is purposed sampling. The questionnaires were self-reported of self-concept and health behaviors. The response rate was 91.28%. Results: Both of the self-concepts and health behaviors were influenced by social demographic variables that included gender, section, grade, the educational degree and occupation of parents. The health behaviors were positive influenced by physical-self, ability-self and school-self, and were negative influenced by achievement-self, emotion-self, and family-self. Suggestions: The relationship of the different subjects self-concept and health behavior is understood and design health educational plans appropriately. |
